In his role as GEN Programmes Associate with GDF, Youssef coordinates the Conservation Justice Programme, including the Conservation and Communities Fellowship, as well as the Grants Programme.

Over the years, he has worked with a variety of non-profits in the social and environmental sector, supporting community-led initiatives and collaborating with local communities in sustainability, social justice, and environmental projects. Through these experiences, he developed a keen understanding of the intricate connections between communities and cultures, as well as the subtle nuances that make each unique.

He is passionate about conservation justice, community building, and creating spaces that cultivate healthy, caring relationships rooted in social and environmental justice. He is dedicated to supporting conservation practitioners through programmes and partnerships that centre care, equity, and community leadership within conservation practice.
