
Rosebell Abwonji
Rosebell Abwonji is the founder of Jasiri Sustainable Futures (JSF), a movement based in Kenya that aims to revolutionize conservation by prioritizing initiatives led by local communities in the pursuit of environmental sustainability.
Currently, Rosebell is pursuing an MPhil in Conservation Leadership at the University of Cambridge, bringing a perspective that is both globally informed and deeply rooted in community values regarding sustainability and environmental justice. With over ten years of experience in the field, she has spearheaded significant projects that involve creating fair systems, strengthening institutional frameworks, and developing scalable strategies that link local efforts to global sustainability objectives. Rosebell's work is anchored in a dedication to social equity, environmental integrity, and the conviction that lasting change stems from focusing on those who are most intimately connected to the land.
She holds an MBA for Conservation Leaders from the African Leadership University, providing her with a solid foundation for ecological responsibility within Africa, organisational growth, and leadership development. She also completed advanced executive training through the Beahrs Environmental Leadership Program at UC Berkeley.
