Sarah Anupi Kutahi

Sarah Anupi Kutahi is a grassroots environmental conservationist from Kenya and the founder of Planet Plus Kenya. She is passionate about restoring ecosystems, mentoring youth, and helping communities turn waste, climate stress, and environmental neglect into opportunity and dignity.

In 2023, she coordinated the planting and ongoing care of over 240,000 trees across public and community forests and schools, in collaboration with the Kenya Forest Service and local organisations. Beyond tree planting, she has introduced school-based environmental clubs, designed youth-friendly circular waste systems, and used GIS mapping to address pollution and flood risks in informal settlements.

She holds a BSc in Environmental Science and a Postgraduate Diploma in Mass Communication, enabling her to merge science with storytelling and make environmental knowledge accessible and actionable.

Her mission is to restore not only landscapes, but also the people who live in them, especially youth and women. She believes environmental action must be practical, empowering, rooted in community, and scaled through solidarity.

She is excited to learn, contribute, and connect through this fellowship, and to grow collective power as a leader in conservation and community resilience.
