Pooja R Bhale

Pooja is a Conservation Biologist with an MSc Conservation from UCL, London and a BSc (Hons) Animal Biology & Conservation, UEL, London. She has previously worked with reputed organisations in Delhi, Mumbai, UK, South Africa and her hometown of Pune. She currently heads Protecterra Ecological Foundation (PEF), a not for profit based in Pune,  India, that aims to bring about an ecological behavioural change amongst people by building empathy and compassion for the Earth through awareness, education and outreach. PEF has varied inter-generational initiatives in the realms of ecological behavioural change, spiritual ecology, planetary wellbeing and environment education.

 

Her ancillary certifications include Leadership for Young Adults, Reiki, Telepathic Animal Communication and NLP amongst others. Pooja shifted to The Farm, PEF’s flagship project in 2015. In order to walk her talk she has been residing in a canvas tent accompanied by over 40 animals who call The Farm home. She is a visiting faculty member at various
institutions and has been teaching, facilitating and been a change-maker since her teens. Pooja has always had a single focus – Connecting people and nature through awareness, education and outreach. Several young children who have been under PEF’s mentorship have now taken on careers in sectors of social and environmental change.
On her own time, she is a sportswoman and has represented the Maharashtra State team for rugby, basketball and athletics and continues to be involved in sport and fitness actively. Finally and most integrally, Pooja is a light worker with a star seed past and is deeply involved in the realms of shamanism, bhakti and medita
tion as a way of life.
