Philemon Moise Donatin DJOI
Philemon holds a Master’s Degree in Protected Areas and Biosphere Reserve (MAB/UNESCO) Management and works in the wildlife conservation unit at APASAT NGO.
His role focuses on wildlife data collection, field assessments, human–wildlife coexistence, and engaging local communities in conservation efforts. This includes project management, proposal writing for funding, and leading his team. In this project, he guides the team in primate population monitoring, assessing interactions between local populations and primates, implementing coexistence strategies through environmental education, alternative livelihoods and non-lethal deterrents, and enhancing community involvement in conservation approaches.
His conservation work has been supported by organisations such as the IUCN French Committee during his time at JEVEV NGO, DierenPark Amersfoort Wildlife Fund, Stiftung Artenschutz, and the Rufford Foundation.
He also mentors youth through the Climate Reality Project, volunteering in climate adaptation, and has served as a young consultant for the Fund for Global Human Rights.
