Kanto Ingotiana Razanajatovo

Kanto Ingotiana Razanajatovo, hailing from Madagascar, serves as the Executive Director of the Tanjona Association, a grassroots organization committed to preserving mangrove and dry forests, with a concurrent focus on enhancing the well-being of local communities. Armed with a Master’s in Finance and Economics, Kanto is also pursuing a PhD in Ecological Economics.

Throughout her career, Kanto has amassed a wealth of experience in implementing sustainable livelihood strategies and pro-poor value chain approaches to promote biodiversity conservation. She firmly believes in the intrinsic connection between the welfare of communities and the preservation of the natural world. One cannot thrive without the other.

Residing in a coastal region, Kanto has witnessed the urgent needs of the coastal communities and the profound impact of climate change on their vulnerability. Concurrently, she has observed the transformative potential of conservation in improving the lives of these communities.

Kanto aspires to bring about significant positive change in the lives of coastal residents and future generations, alleviating poverty while safeguarding Madagascar’s remarkable biodiversity. She and her dedicated teams collaborate closely with women and young people who often bear the brunt of the challenges posed by climate change and poverty.
