Huyen Thi Thanh Nguyen

Huyen Thi Thanh Nguyen is a passionate conservationist currently serving as a Research Manager at Save Vietnam’s Wildlife, a leading local NGO focused on conservation in Vietnam. Her work revolves around species conservation, habitat protection and sustainable livelihood development, with a strong emphasis on building collaborative partnerships with local communities. She leads initiatives that integrate traditional knowledge into modern conservation strategies to ensure both biodiversity protection and community well-being.

She holds a postgraduate diploma in International Wildlife Conservation Practices from the University of Oxford and a Master of Science in Wildlife Conservation Technology from Liverpool John Moores University. Recently, she participated in the ASAP Women in Conservation Leadership Programme, which enhanced her leadership and advocacy skills. At Save Vietnam’s Wildlife, she has seen firsthand how local communities are crucial to conservation success. She is eager to join this fellowship to exchange ideas and deepen her skills in community-centred conservation practices.
