I am currently working as Quality and Environment Coordinator at Omnicane Management & Consultancy Limited in the Republic of Mauritius. I joined the company in 2009 and have since then coordinated several projects such as the Integrated & Sustainability reports based on GRI guidelines, implemented quality and environmental management systems, sustainability standards, conducted trainings on sustainable development and environmental management and managed the company’s carbon accounting tool. I am also well versed with Industrial Energy Auditing, Oceanic Renewable Energy, Quality & Environmental Management Systems auditing and Sustainable Development techniques through various intensive trainings. I previously worked in diverse sectors in Mauritius namely in the textile and tourism sector as a trainee environmental engineer. In addition, I am the secretary to the newly created Business Council for Sustainable Development committee which meets on a monthly basis to discuss on local sustainable development initiatives in the corporate sector in Mauritius.

On the educational front, I hold a BEng (Hons) degree in Chemical & Environmental Engineering and a Master’s degree in Sustainable Environmental Management from the University of Mauritius. I have just completed my MBA in Global Sustainable Management (Green MBA) from Anaheim University, and am a Full Member of the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment (IEMA) in UK.

Since 2010, I am involved in several international clubs such as Toastmasters International and Junior Chamber International (JCI) which have strengthened my communication and leadership skills. I have held the positions as Vice President for Education of the Port Louis Toastmasters Club and Project Director for the JCI Port Louis project on UN MDG 7 Promoting Environmental Sustainability. I have also been a Participating Youth (PY) in the 21st Ship for World Youth Programme organized by the Government of Japan in 2009 where I represented Mauritius and participated in activities on board the cruise ship, in Japan and in the other countries we visited. I strive to integrate the sustainability mind-set across my workplace and the community through education, positive change management, cleaner production techniques and sustainability projects.
