Andrea Fuentes
Andrea Fuentes is an enthusiastic advocate for wildlife conservation and community development. She holds a Bachelor’s in Environmental Engineering and has dedicated the past three years to working on Andean bear conservation in Bolivia in collaboration with local communities.
Her journey commenced in 2021 when she received a small grant to spearhead a community-based initiative to protect Andean bears. One of her proudest accomplishments is establishing a trusting relationship with artisan women, leading to the successful launch of a sustainable textile livelihood project. This transformative experience further strengthened her dedication to grassroots conservation and community engagement.
Andrea is wholeheartedly committed to the mission of her fellowship, as it perfectly aligns with her goal of creating sustainable solutions for environmental challenges. She eagerly anticipates the opportunity to collaborate with like-minded individuals, draw from their diverse perspectives, and contribute her wealth of experiences. Beyond her professional endeavours, Andrea is an avid hiker who finds inspiration in the natural world. She looks forward to joining the fellowship and making a lasting impact.
