Diversities and Diasporas

Fellowship Application

Many thanks for your interest in GDF Diversities & Diasporas Fellowships. After a successful inaugural event, GDF is launching another edition of the fellowship for writers to participate in the March 2023 PhiloXenia Creative Writing Retreat at Jnane Tamsna. The fellowships, intended for writers of color and/or members of the Historically Black Colleges and Universities community, support emerging writers and amplify voices that need to be heard. Fellowships cover the cost of tuition, travel, room and board, and include ongoing mentorship opportunities. Fellows co-create writing projects for the initiatives of the Global Diversity Foundation, such as our emerging Project In/Visibility

This edition is titled ‘Writing as a Catalyst for Community,’ led by Glory Edim of Well-Read Black Girl, Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Tyehimba Jess, and Simon & Schuster Senior Editor Yahdon Israel. Please consult the retreat website for a full description of the event.
