Visual Anthropology Lead

A passionate award winning documentary filmmaker and visual anthropologist, Dr. Eda Elif Tibet leads and coordinates in shaping a visionary media outreach strategy that amplifies GDF’s vision for a more just and regenerative planet earth. Within her expertise fields are combining scientific insight with transformational impact through various media modalities and overseeing the innovative conception, creation, and editing of publications and other forms of scientific outreach in various channels (digital and print). In exchange with various stakeholders, Elif drives the establishment of a wider network promoting GDF’s visibility and works towards trailblazing media outreach for its various pillars. Elif actively works for the documentation of the High Atlas Cultural Landscapes and International Education Programme with its Global Environments Network where she mentors and teaches as core faculty, since 2015.

She is the founder of KarmaMotion together with GEN Alumni and Resource Person Inanc Tekgüc with whom she directed and produced seven award winning films, which have been circulated at film festivals around the world and broadcast on digital streaming platforms, TVs, radios and newspapers: TRT,CNN,IZ TV, NTV, BBC News, NatGEO, Aljazeera, SRF, Radio Rabe, and others.

Dr. Eda Elif Tibet is also a postdoctoral researcher at the Critical Sustainability Unit (Institute of Geography) at the University of Bern, leading her own research framework–Animating The Commons
