Márcia Maria Tait Lima
Dr. Márcia Maria Tait Lima (Brazil) is a collaborating professor and postdoctoral researcher at the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP) in Brazil. She works on the interface between nature, culture and technoscience, especially in aspects of communication, social participation, social movements, gender, environment and agroecology. Márcia graduated from the Laboratory of Scientific Journalism and the Laboratory of Studies of Technologies and Social Transformations, Department of Scientific and Technological Policies, UNICAMP. She received her PhD in Science and Technology Policy from the same institution in 2015 with the thesis ‘They say no – Peasant women and contraposition to transgenic crops in Brazil and Argentina’, for which she was awarded in 2016 with the Latin American Association of Social Studies of Science and Technology prize for young researchers. She has been a fellow with the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) and a visiting student at the Valladolid University (Spain), where she carried out research on the ecofeminism framework. From 2010 to 2016, Márcia participated in many research and extension projects, including: ‘Extension Program and Agroecology Network’; ‘Technologies for Social Inclusion and Public Policies in Latin America’, funded by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC); ‘SEMENTEIA: Multimedia, Education and Resistances in a virtual platform’; and ‘Measures for the Social Inclusion and Equity in Higher Education Institutions in Latin America (MISEAL)’, funded by the ALFA II Program of the European Union.
